We offer a free snapshot service for two reasons:
1. To act on our bigger goal of improving the experience end-users get from technology. We are keen to be part of a drive to improve the digital experiences of as many people as possible, not just those that see value in our paid offerings.
2. To offer a simple way for potential paying customers to see the kind of thing our solution can do – albeit just a subset of our capabilities.
To better explain point two, let us outline just some of the additional capabilities available in our full ISP or Corporate versions of the proxyNM solution:
- Full GUI support – the central ISP or corporate gets browser-based GUI access to see results in real-time. The PDF-based reports used in this free service do remain available but are often not used as results are not usually shared with end-users but with internal support groups. The GUI is the way most customers use the full solution.
- Much more frequent testing schedules.
- More robust throughput testing – we dial this back in the free service as it is the most network resource-intensive and can become costly for us.
- Rich visualizations – many more vizualizations, all interactive
- Custom visualizations
- Configurable test parameters
- Many more tests available (see here for details)
- RaspberryPi based appliance available
- Alexa skill available – useful for end-users to kick off on-demand tests by voice command, if the tests fall outside of acceptable performance a ticket can be automatically opened in Servicenow (or others with integration)
- Self-service integration with Servicenow virtual agent chatbot available – customers can self-verify issues and then open tickets via this integration
- Threshold-based alerts available via SNMP, email, IM and CLI/exec
