Making sense of timelines in results and visualizations

The home/residential services don’t utilise interactive UIs – rather we send a periodical PDF report.

The PDF report we send you will show a number of result vizualizations that show the performance of your computer, network or applications.

In the case of a snapshot you may receive just one report. In other services you will receive daily or weekly reports.

As an example, imagine you are gettting a daily report for one week of assessment. In the first report you receive there will be just one day of results and each day we will send you another report containing the previous result plus another additional day of results.

By the last report, the visualizations will be full of 7 days of results.

Along the bottom of each visualization is a timeline showing a vertical line at the boundary of each day. Each full day sits between two vertical lines. The date is shown at the bottom of the vertical line.

An example is shown below:

In this chart, each point on the line or area chart of the visualization represents the results for an hour of that day. If you count the points you will see there are 24 points between each vertical line representing the 24 hours of that day.
